Azuchi Castle, located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, was a short-lived but historically significant fortress. Constructed by Oda Nobunaga in the late 16th century, it represented a departure from traditional castle design. Azuchi Castle was characterized by its innovative architectural features, including a multi-story main keep with a unique octagonal shape. The castle served as Nobunaga's residence and a center for political and cultural activities during his reign. Unfortunately, it was destroyed shortly after Nobunaga's death in 1582, leaving a lasting impact on Japanese castle design and symbolizing the dynamic era of the Sengoku period.
